Are you feeling overwhelmed? Would you like to experience
the joy of a simpler life? This class will equip you with
the organizing skills needed to save space, time, money, and
your sanity! You will learn how to: (1) declutter your home,
organize it efficiently, and maximize storage space; (2) take
charge of your schedule to free up time for the things that
nurture you; (3) manage paper flow, with proven systems for
purging, sorting, and filing; and (4) create a lifestyle conducive
to simplicity. In the process, you will pick up tips for saving
money and experiencing more peace of mind. Students are encouraged
to take on personal organizing projects and put the lessons
learned into practice. Simplify and enrich your life –
you will feel the difference!
The
Alchemy of Organizing and the Tao of Decluttering©
Are you "STUFFocating" from the clutter of things,
paper, and overcommitments? Do you sense a need for "inner"
work on your outer clutter? This class offers a rich and rewarding
opportunity for transformation on many levels. You will learn
the "Alchemy of Organizing," which changes this
mundane task into a GOLDEN opportunity for self-discovery
and personal development. The Tao of Decluttering offers a
gentle way to help you move beyond resistance to let go of
what no longer serves you. You will be inspired by the teachings
of the world’s sages, philosophers, and wisdom traditions,
while getting grounded, practical instruction in the systems,
techniques and strategies employed by professional organizers.
It is not just about decluttering, it’s about freedom.
It is not just about organizing, it’s about experiencing
an incredible lightness of being.
Organizing
Your Home Office for Maximum Effectiveness
Whether used as a family’s "command central"
or for a home-based business, the home office must meet many
needs. This class teaches the fundamentals of organizing your
space, your paper, and your time. For when it comes to the
home office, all three types of organizing are critical to
ensuring utmost effectiveness. Most people agree that paper
is one of the great stressors of modern society. When home
office space is organized for maximum efficiency, it becomes
much easier to organize and deal with paper. And when paper
processing is done effectively, it provides a foundation for
scheduling and organizing your time. You will learn the principles
of space organizing to optimize office activities. You will
be taught proven practices for reducing paper overwhelm, setting
up personalized filing systems geared specifically to your
needs, and how to use various products available for managing
your time and organizing your schedule.
Downsizing:
How to Simplify Your Home and Your Life
Downsizing offers a wonderful opportunity to simplify your
life and your home. Yet its challenges are many. Whether you
are considering or facing a move to smaller living quarters
-- or you feel squeezed out by all your belongings and want
to simplify your current living space -- this class will ease
your way. You will be guided step-by-step through an assessment
of where you are and where you need to go, thus providing
a "road map" of the downsizing process. This class
will not only facilitate decisions on what to keep, what to
donate/sell/auction, and what to gift or toss, it will also
suggest options for where and how. You will get tips on decluttering
and staging a home to expedite its sale, pointers on holding
a garage or estate sale on your own – or contracting
it out, and suggestions on furniture selection and placement
to maximize use of space.
Letting
Go & Lightening Up™
SOS is a certified facilitator for this training, which guides
and supports people through their own process of Letting Go
and Lightening Up. This enables them to clear the clutter
and make conscious choices about what to let go of, what to
keep and where to put it. The training’s core concepts
include looking at: yourself, your surroundings, and your
clutter from a different perspective; the power of your thoughts,
words, intentions and imagination; creative ways to eliminate
clutter as well as guilt, worry, fear, self-criticism, judgment,
shame and other negative thinking; using your own inner wisdom
to make choices that work for you; and how to make conscious
decisions that honor your own style, personality, comfort
level and priorities.
